Parents: Apps To Keep an Eye Out For

A growing trend is for teenagers to use apps that are intended to help them hide content on their phone.  Free apps such as "Spycalc" (pictured left) allow users to hide content such as pictures and videos.  The app appears, and functions, as a regular calculator but if  you key in the correct combination of numbers and characters you'll be directed to the hidden content.  Teenagers have used apps like this one to hide pornographic and sexting images from their parents.  Parents, if the phone already has a default calculator on it and you find you child has another calculator app, or multiple calculators apps, you should question your child about them.
